Traditional festival food

The event centres on artisan cheese in all its forms, highlighting varieties protected by designations of origin and renowned regional traditions. Among the cheeses on offer are widely celebrated specialities such as Idiazábal, Manchego, Tetilla, Gamonéu, Mahón-Menorca, and Picón Bejes-Tresviso. Visitors can also sample traditional tortas (creamy, soft-ripened cheeses) such as Torta de La Serena and Torta del Casar. The culinary offerings are rounded off by sweet baked treats and pastries prepared specifically with cheese as their star ingredient.

Visitor guide and where to stay

It is advisable to book accommodation well in advance to secure a place to stay over the festival dates. Visitors are encouraged to use public transport or leave their cars in the designated parking areas on the MA-465 road, the old football ground on the Teba-Almargen road, and the Cuartel area, priced at one euro. The organisers provide a shuttle bus running between the Molino Lucero area and Calle Melrose, operating on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00. To get around comfortably and follow all the scheduled events, staying in the village itself or in the surrounding area is ideal, and it is always wise to check the official programme beforehand for any last-minute timetable adjustments.
