Introduction and local significance

The Mercado Medieval de Huércal de Almería transforms various parts of the Almerian municipality with free activities set in medieval times. Organised by the Town Council together with the Gremio de Dragones, this event has confirmed dates from 16 to 18 October 2026. The Plaza de la Constitución hosts dozens of stalls featuring crafts, food and handmade products where traders dress in character to recreate the historical period.

Historical origins and tradition

The celebration recreates the aesthetics and guilds of the Middle Ages through stalls specifically decorated for the occasion. Artisans showcase traditional disciplines such as weapon forging and local craft-making. Participants and merchants wear period clothing to maintain the atmosphere in the streets of the municipality.
