Introduction and local significance

The 3rd Fair of Confraternity Craftsmanship and Drum 'Ecos de Pasión' in Hellín takes place from 7 to 8 November 2026. Organised by the Hellín Town Council and the Brotherhood of the Sacred Descent of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the fair is held at the town's Franciscan convent. The event brings together over twenty artisans, specialist shops, religious image makers, embroiderers, wood carvers, sculptors and luthiers, as well as musical groups and bugle and drum bands.

Historical origins and tradition

This event was created to provide the town with a major gathering dedicated to sacred art, building on the deep-rooted confraternity and drumming tradition of this municipality in Albacete. The programme includes the veneration of María Santísima del Desconsuelo in the convent chapel and specialist panel discussions on religious heritage. Traditional events focus on demonstrations of artisanal trades linked to Holy Week and performances by local and regional bands.

Programme and main events

Since the official schedule already details the times of the main events, you can consult the list above to plan your visits. Highlights include the opening concert by the Banda CCTT Juventud Musical de Hellín with local drummers, the grand parade between the Drummer Monument and the Nazarene Monument, and performances by groups such as the Agrupación Musical San Juan Evangelista from El Bonillo and local bugle and drum bands Santa Cruz, Nuestra Señora del Dolor and the Hermandad de La Verónica, which will premiere the march 'El último abrazo'.

Traditional festival food

Throughout the weekend, attendees can sample local food at the 'Tasca de Nicodemo', located in the convent's choir, which features bar service. The main dish of the confraternity gathering is the popular paella, served to attendees as part of Sunday's fellowship events.
