Introduction and local significance

The Fira del Torró i la Xocolata a la Pedra in Agramunt celebrates its 37th edition from 10 to 12 October 2026. This gastronomic event brings together chefs, pastry chefs, producers and artisans to highlight the region's agri-food produce. Visitors heading to the municipality in Lleida can enjoy an extensive programme centred on Catalan confectionery tradition.

Historical origins and tradition

The history of the fair dates back to 1988, when the first market dedicated to torró (nougat) was organised with the participation of Agramunt torronaires (nougat makers) and a few local shops. A year later, on 12 October 1989, the Fira del Torró i la Xocolata a la Pedra was officially born. The event maintains that foundational link with local produce while projecting it towards contemporary gastronomy.

Programme and main events

The Pavelló Firal and the Carpa de la Cuita host a large part of the event's activities. The programme includes several highlights for attendees:

  • Saturday: MasterChef judges' session with Xocolates Jolonch to prepare three dishes with torró, the final of the third national 'Torró Creatiu Mestre Àngel Velasco' championship and a dessert session with Ale Rivas.
  • Saturday: 'Fumat i xocolata' (smoked food and chocolate) presentation by Eric Ortuño and a journey through the Bean to Bar world with Ivan Pascual alongside wines from the D.O. Costers del Segre.
  • Sunday: culinary demonstration by Àngel Esteve and pastry session in torró format with Sofia Janer and Víctor Gonzalo.
  • Monday 12 October: special programme in the Aula del Gust de Lleida with sessions on the local area, pastry-making and Christmas cooking.

Traditional festival food

The absolute stars of the event are Turró d'Agramunt, protected by its P.G.I. (Protected Geographical Indication), and xocolata a la pedra (traditional stone-ground chocolate). In the Carpa de la Cuita, visitors can watch the artisanal preparation of authentic torró live. In addition, the fair brings together local products such as D.O.P. Oli Les Garrigues olive oil, artisanal cheeses, cured meats, Lleida wines and honey from Mels Alemany.

Visitor guide and where to stay

It is advisable to book accommodation in advance for the festival dates, either in the municipality itself or in nearby towns to make travel easier. On the busiest days, it is best to use public transport or park outside the centre. For activities that require prior registration, you can sign up via the fair's website, by calling the Oficina de Turisme d’Agramunt or directly at the Information Point of the fairgrounds during the weekend.
