Introduction and local significance

La Festa del Roser in Les Preses is a deeply rooted patronal celebration in the Girona municipality that brings together residents and visitors around its local traditions. This edition will take place specifically from 9 to 13 October 2027, a period during which the town hosts various participatory events linked to its official festive calendar.

Historical origins and tradition

The festivity maintains deeply rooted customs in the town, notably the annual organisation of the poster contest aimed at selecting the official image that represents both the event and the Gala de les Preses. Residents, people born in the municipality, workers and members of local cultural, social or civic associations take part in this competition, submitting their works to the Town Hall before Friday 8 May 2026 at 14:00. The rules structure participation into category A, for those born before 31 December 2013, and category B, for those born after 1 January 2014. Among all participants, a first prize of 200 euros in cultural material and the cover of the Gala is awarded, alongside a second prize of 100 euros in cultural material and the cover of la Festa del Roser in Les Preses. The creations are evaluated by a jury composed of three members proposed by the councillor for culture, and the selected works become the property of the local council.

Programme and main events

Since the detailed official programme is published through the institutional channels of the Town Hall of Les Preses, consulting it in advance is recommended to find out the exact times of each event. Among the activities planned in the organisation of the festivity is specifically the selection and presentation of the contest posters during one of the events scheduled on the festive days.

Traditional festival food

The context provided for this edition does not include specific information on typical dishes, traditional recipes or catering establishments linked to the celebration. For this reason, no concrete gastronomic elements associated with the calendar of these days in the municipality are detailed.

Visitor guide and where to stay

To follow all the scheduled events with ease, it is advisable to book accommodation well in advance in the municipality itself or in surrounding towns, which makes attending the events easier. On days with the highest visitor turnout, choosing public transport or parking vehicles outside the town centre is highly recommended. Likewise, before making any journey, checking the official programme of the town hall is essential, as schedules and planned events may be subject to change.
