The Feria y Fiestas en Honor a San Acacio in Montemayor is officially celebrated from 19 to 24 June 2026. This patron saint celebration brings together locals and visitors for an intensive programme combining religious devotion, sports and music in the Cordoban municipality. For six days, the streets and designated venues host a wide variety of recreational activities designed to enliven the Andalusian town.
Historical origins and tradition
The celebrations revolve around the figure of San Acacio in the municipality of Montemayor. The tradition features the participation of the Estudiantina de Montemayor, which performs street parades and musical wake-up calls during the festive days. Religious events gather devotees at the parish church to honour the town's patron saint.
Programme and main events
The official programme of the Feria y Fiestas en Honor a San Acacio in Montemayor kicks off with the lighting of the extraordinary fair illuminations and the official opening speech delivered by Mr. José Díaz Díaz at the Municipal Marquee at 23:00 on 19 June, preceded by performances from Rockabanda and DJ Lela. Throughout the days, unique events take place such as the 1st Enduro - Crono "Los Barreiros" at the Cerro de la Alcoba motocross track, or ribbon races on horseback in front of the IES Ulia Fidentia and on motorbikes at the Cattle Fair ground. The events are complemented by sporting tournaments like the 3x3 basketball championship at the Municipal Sports Pavilion and children's water attractions at the Municipal Marquee. The nights come alive with live performances by bands such as Rockopop, Orquesta Kacique, Olivetti versiones, Orquesta Mediterraneo, Planeta 80 along with DJ Edo, and Trueno Azul with DJ Logan, in addition to continuous music sessions at the Youth Marquee. On 22 June at 20:00, the solemn mass and procession of the patron saint take place at the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, accompanied by the Banda de Cornetas y Tambores Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno de Montemayor. The festivities also reserve spaces for senior citizens with an official reception and a performance by Juan Antonio Medina Granados on 24 June, culminating the edition with a midnight fireworks display and the subsequent presentation of sports trophies.
