Introduction and local significance
The Feria in Fuentes de Andalucía takes place this year from 19 to 23 August 2026 in the province of Seville. This summer event transforms the Sevillan town during the month of August. Visitors who come during these days will find a wide range of traditional activities, sporting events and musical performances organised by the Town Hall. The event brings locals and visitors together around the Real de la Feria to enjoy five days of uninterrupted festivities.
Historical origins and tradition
The festivity officially recovered the name "Fiesta de la Ermita" after being approved in an ordinary plenary session on 6 June 2024. Its historical background dates back to the 17th century, a period when the Hermandad de Consolación —now the Hermandad de la Humildad— organised a fair next to its chapel that ran parallel to the liturgical services of the time. By the 18th century, this celebration had evolved into an evening of popular socialising, leisure and recreation for all the inhabitants of the municipality. Among the most deeply rooted customs that have survived to the present day is the Día del Traje de Flamenca, a popular initiative that fills the Real with colour through the region's most representative attire. During this day, tradition is completed with the traditional horse ride and carriage hitching, fundamental elements of the local festive heritage.
Programme and main events
The official programme of the Feria in Fuentes de Andalucía, which you can consult in detail in the top section of this page, brings together deeply rooted events such as the Tradicional Cena del Pescaíto (traditional fried fish dinner) in the Municipal Marquee and the classic children's and adults' cucañas (greased pole games). Other central events include the Gran Exhibición Ecuestre (grand equestrian exhibition) held in the car park esplanade in front of the Colegio Santo Tomás and the picturesque donkey race at the fairgrounds. The recreational calendar also includes various sports tournaments, sevillanas contests and top-level musical performances at night. The grand finale of the five days of festivities takes place on 23 August with the official closing, a great fireworks display and the release of the traditional toros de fuego (fire bulls).
Traditional festival food
During the days of celebration, local gastronomy takes centre stage both in the marquees set up at the venue and at the meeting points in the municipality. One of the most notable gastronomic moments of the festive programme is the traditional dinner dedicated to pescaíto frito (fried fish), held in the Municipal Marquee. This culinary event brings attendees together around this traditional dish at the start of the festivities.

Visitor guide and where to stay
The events and activities of the fair are mainly concentrated in the area known as the Real de la Feria, so it is essential to plan your travel in advance. On the days with the highest turnout, it is best to use public transport or leave your vehicle in the designated areas outside the town centre to avoid congestion. It is advisable to follow the instructions of local authorities regarding recommended access routes to the venue during peak hours. To guarantee a comfortable stay and be able to follow the evening events, it is highly recommended to book accommodation in advance both in the municipality of Fuentes de Andalucía itself and in nearby towns.
