This municipality in the Axarquía region of Málaga hosts this patronal festival to honour the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud, combining devotional events with musical and recreational proposals in squares such as the Plaza de la Constitución and the Plaza del Calvario.

Historical origins and tradition

The religious rituals of this festive occasion are rooted in the local devotion towards the image of the patron saint. Among the traditional events, the descent of the Cristo de la Salud, celebrated on Thursday 15 October, stands out, as well as the Quinario preceding it, which gathers the faithful around the recitation of the Santo Rosario and the Eucharist.
