Feria de Otoño y del Caballo en Huelva

Introduction and local significance

The Feria de Otoño y del Caballo in Huelva takes place from 9 to 11 October 2026. This edition arrives with major new features in the layout of the spaces to protect the Parque Alcalde Juan Ceada Infantes and look towards the estuary. The exhibition arena and the new street of marquees are moved to land belonging to the Puerto de Huelva, next to the expansion of the Muelle de Levante. In addition, this year's event is dedicated to the municipality of Beas, which has its own marquee and a prominent role in the programme.

Historical origins and tradition

The image for this edition is the work of local artist from Huelva Jesús García Osorno, selected through a competition called by the Asociación Huelva Ecuestre. The poster is painted in oil on a 50 by 70 centimetre wooden panel and is structured around colour, the Lusitano horse, and the roses and pomegranates that evoke autumn. The composition also includes the image of the Virgen de los Clarines to fuse the equestrian essence with the roots of the honoured municipality. The Asociación Huelva Ecuestre promotes the traditional activities of the event, which include horse riding parades and doma vaquera (traditional Andalusian cowboy dressage).

Programme and main events

The official programme of the Feria de Otoño y del Caballo in Huelva takes place over three days in the areas set up in the Port:

• Friday 9 October: at 12:00 the opening of the horse riding and carriage parade takes place in the recinto. At 13:00 the official inauguration takes place, along with the reception of the people of Beas and the handover of the bolt by the Asociación Huelva Ecuestre. At 17:00 a doma vaquera exhibition by the municipality of Beas is held in the Muelle de Levante arena.
• Saturday 10 October: at 12:00 the carriage parade takes place through the streets of Huelva, followed at 13:30 by a carriage exhibition in the Muelle de Levante arena. At 18:00 the show La Leyenda del pájaro azul, by Paco Martos, is scheduled at this same location.

The celebration of this event generates significant economic activity directly linked to the hospitality and catering sector. During the festive days, the bars and establishments integrated into the fairground offer their services to the attending public. This restaurant offer complements the equestrian and cultural programme developed on the land of the Puerto de Huelva.

On the days with the highest turnout, it is advisable to use public transport or park outside the urban centre.
