Introduction and local significance

The Feria de Bormujos is the major festive event of this municipality in the province of Sevilla, usually held in the month of August. This edition takes place from 26 to 30 August 2026 at the local fairgrounds. Locals and visitors gather during these days to enjoy the marquees, music and events organised by the local council.

Historical origins and tradition

Among the most deeply rooted customs of the Feria de Bormujos is the departure of the traditional 'Todo El Rancho' and its subsequent route through the streets of the fairgrounds. This festive display forms part of the local identity during the celebration days. Institutional events and the participation of the municipality's associations reaffirm the traditional nature of the gathering.

Programme and main events

The official programme includes prominent proposals such as the switching on of the lighting and entrance gate, the horse-drawn carriage parade transporting the queens and gentlemen from the Town Hall, and the nightly concerts on the central stage. Sporting competitions such as the 'Memorial Atanasio Moñino Rufo' Tángana Trophy and the CD GSPORT FS Futsal Trophy are also held. The schedule details for each activity can be consulted in the official event programme.

Traditional festival food

During the fair days, the marquees set up at the fairgrounds become the main meeting space for lunches and dinners for attendees. In these socialising spots, visitors share moments of conviviality around the catering available at the fair. Gatherings in the marquees structure much of the daily activity during the festive days.

Visitor guide and where to stay

To attend the events, it is worth bearing in mind that the fairgrounds host most of the gatherings and that the Town Hall implements specific inclusion measures. These include the Noise-Free Night, scheduled for Thursday 27 August for people with autism and sensory hypersensitivity, and the Bormujos Safe Space service as an information and women's support point. It is advisable to book accommodation in advance and check for last-minute changes in the official programme.
