Introduction and local significance
La Feria Agrícola, Ganadera y Pesquera in Teguise is celebrating its fifth edition from 4 to 7 June 2026. This event takes place at the Centro Agrotecnológico de Teguise and its main objective is to highlight the importance of the primary sector in the economy and culture of Lanzarote. The event has established itself as a meeting point for professionals and visitors interested in getting a first-hand look at the island's agricultural, livestock and fishing activity. Thanks to the joint effort of administrations, entities and workers in the sector, visitors can learn about the work of those who cultivate the land and exploit marine resources.
Historical origins and tradition
La Feria Agrícola, Ganadera y Pesquera in Teguise has grown progressively over its five editions, the result of constant collaboration between rural professionals and public institutions. An essential component of the celebration is the tribute ceremony for the young people and elders of the primary sector, which formally recognises their effort, dedication and commitment to traditional economic activity. Livestock exhibitions are also organised, an activity that showcases fieldwork and keeps alive the customs linked to livestock farming on the island. These traditions are fundamental to understanding the evolution and current value of agriculture and fishing in the municipality.
Programme and main events
This year's agenda begins on 4 June with the opening events at the Centro Agrotecnológico de Teguise, while the day of 5 June is reserved for outreach among social groups. The events detailed in the current plan are as follows:
- 4 June: Official opening of the V Feria de Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca at the Centro Agrotecnológico de Teguise.
- 4 June: Tribute ceremony for young people and elders of the primary sector at the Centro Agrotecnológico de Teguise.
- 5 June: Visit by schoolchildren, the elderly and young people from the Juventud Activa programme at the Centro Agrotecnológico de Teguise.
Before travelling, it is recommended to check the official programme, as schedules and events may be subject to changes by the organisation.
Traditional festival food
寿司 The food offering available during the fair days focuses on local production and responsible consumption. Attendees have the opportunity to sample products obtained directly from the island's environment, with special attention to the following varieties:
- Zero-kilometre products: local foods selected for their high nutritional quality.
- Organic fruit: tastings available throughout the days of the fair.
This culinary offering reinforces the goal of promoting sustainability and the consumption of local produce among visitors attending the event.
Visitor guide and where to stay
The fair takes place at the Centro Agrotecnológico de Teguise. Due to the influx of the public during the designated days, it is recommended to opt for public transport whenever possible or to look for parking outside central areas to avoid congestion. It is advisable to plan your travel in advance, as access routes may be adjusted by the organisation. If you decide to stay overnight, it is recommended to book accommodation in advance in the municipality itself or in nearby towns. This foresight facilitates access to the events and allows you to follow the agenda without logistical difficulties.
