Historical origins and tradition

The scenography of the Belén Municipal en Torrevieja stands out for integrating around 500 figures of different sizes and typologies belonging to the municipal heritage. The artistic design combines the traditional Hebrew setting with at least five reproductions of architectural elements representative of the town. Among these constructions are the Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción, the Casino Cultural, the Torre del Moro and the Eras de la Sal pier. The composition is completed with ornamental vegetation such as palm trees, cypresses and cacti, as well as a hydraulic system equipped with moving water.

Programme and main events

The official opening of the installation is scheduled for 28 November, coinciding with the day on which the traditional offering of flowers in honour of the Inmaculada Concepción takes place. The display occupies a 200-square-metre marquee that houses an exhibition area of about 90 square metres on an elevated platform. Attendees can tour at least ten compulsory traditional scenes, among which are the Annunciation, the dream of Saint Joseph, the request for an inn, the Nativity and the Adoration of the Magi. The established opening hours include morning and afternoon slots from Monday to Friday, and uninterrupted service during the weekends.
